We are having a BLAST! There is defiantly not a dull moment here in this house. Thanks to grandpa and grandma for letting the kids run the house. I think they might feel a little bit relieved when we leave tomorrow. I will post pictures when I get home, but right now I am writing while the chaos is around me. So here we go........
This was our first Christmas that we spent with just us. It was just as exciting for Clint and me as it was for our kids. On Christmas eve we had some great friends come over for appetizers and hot chocolate. We had some amazing food there, everyone did such a great job. We also had many different ways to make hot chocolate. Yummy! The kids decorated sugar cookies for Santa and acted out the Christmas story. It was great fun! After everyone left we opened one present (this is from my side), Clint's side opens all the presents and then just opens the ones from Santa in the morning. I am not prepared enough to have them all wrapped before hand so my tradition won over. Not that it really matters!
Christmas morning......our kids did not wake up too early. We got up about 8:30 and opened stockings, which is my favorite part. I started making cinnamon rolls and we opened presents. It was so fun to see the excitement in their faces. I loved it. We are so blessed to have 3 wonderful kids. I have always been a fan of finding that perfect gift and I think my kids are pleased. It was pretty warm that day so Colton was able to use his bike ramps that he got for Christmas. In the evening we picked up Sharon and her girls and drove up to my parents for a week of partying.
Little did we know that we were walking into a house that was infested with sickness. It actually wasn't that big of a deal. I just find it funny that we now have had two Christmas's with the stomach flu around us. Luckily, this year we have not gotten it. But it is not over yet. The kids are having so much fun. We have been skiing, swimming, watching movies, staying in our pj's all day, and playing games. We have all been drinking and eating way toooooo much.
Last night was NEW YEAR'S EVE! We had yummy fondue with freezing COLD weather. It was to cold to let off our pop rockets, so grandpas let us do them in the house. What a nice grandpa....the funny thing was when Grandma came home from work we were right in the middle of it. ha haaha! We played band hero until about 2am and then finally went to bed.
There were thougths of skiing for me today, but now that I don't ski race anymore I have become a fair weather skier and it is way to freakin' cold outside to go skiing. There will be warmer days! And now here we are. We are still in our pj's, eating, and running around.
Being the new year, I have been thinking about what I want to improve on. I set goals, rather than new years resolutions, but call them whatever you want. Here are some of my Goals.
1. Finding the good in people, things, and situations.
2. I would like to lose a little more weight and get stronger. (doesn't everybody) I am happy with where I am, but I always like to improve on things.
3. Budget......we need to be more proactive rather than reactive.
4. Find more joy in where I am in life and what it brings.
5. Be more organized!!!!
7. Read and study more in the scriptures!
6. we will see what else I think about!
We should all strive to improve from where we are. We don't have to change right away or even change at all. But we all have things we can improve on and if we are not moving forward then we are moving backwards. Which way do you want to move????
